Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a horse spend in the wild with food?

A horse in nature is busy eating for 14 to 16 hours, this is almost impossible for domestic horses.  An automatic feeding system not only ensures several feeding moments per day, it also brings peace of mind in the stable!

Is there an economic benefit of multiple feeding times?

Absolutely! You will see that your horse gets more energy from several smaller portions than from 2 or 3 large portions. This also means that you can save up to 35% on concentrates and much less hay is wasted.

Are several small feeding moments more favorable for my horse?

Definitely! A horse that does not eat from hunger and is therefore not "nervous", is an animal that eats calmer and less. An extra point of attention for colic-prone horses! 50% less chance of colic and 70% less chance of stomach ulcers.

How do you fill the feeders?

  1. PowerFeeder, this can be done from above with a feed bucket.

  2. PowerRaufe, here you can spread the hay from above.

  3. PortionsRaufe, the hay can be placed in the feeder on the shelves via 2 doors.

Is an electrical outlet required?

The central control can be connected to a 230V powersocket. If this is not present, the feeders can also work perfectly with solar panels in combination with batteries. The feeders themselves operate on low voltage.

How robust are the automatic feeders?

Only the best is good enough! That is why all our feeders are made of stainless steel and are shock resistant.
With the PowerRaufe a combination of woven rubber, with the PortionsRaufe special cross-glued wood.
